Buddhify: Guided Meditation App Reviews

tldr: the interface is cluttered and slow. The typeface is too small to read. Crashes when re-entering app. Some nice AstroTurf reviews here. I actually used this and heres what I think... A universal app that stores personal data but offers no sync between multiple devices? Sounds like the developers didnt actually use the native SDK. So I should pick one place to use it, and delete the other? The gestures are clearly not native. A swipe should be a swipe, not a delayed request to ask the app the do something. The interface is also pretty, but confusing and non obvious. Too many useless buttons and too much focus on data collection. Constantly hijacks the lock screen. Just waking up, or tired old eyes? Keep moving. This app will drive you bonkers. Sort of ironic that an app made for relaxation makes me so irritated. Consider skipping this until the developers set their standards higher.

After only a few guided sessions I was able to experience a deep meditation. Im trying to keep a daily schedule as recommended. This has helped. I would recommend this app as a starting point for any one interested in meditation.

Why is there no option to have continuously play?

Downloaded onto my iPhone 5s, which meets OS requirements per the app. It will not open and only freezes my phone. I do not see identical complaints listed here in Customer Reviews, but do see several concerns about downloading and opening problems.

Ive been using this app several times a day, on and off for a couple years. This is one of maybe 5 apps Id never delete off my phone.

Ive tried various apps for meditation. This one is just what Im looking for in bite-size guided sessions. You could also make the sessions longer and even do solo sessions.

This app has been really great. Im on a 23 day streak and I like that its varied and very nice and guided short meditations for all kinds of situations. One thing I wish a user could do, would be to rate each meditation. There are some that I find more helpful than others (particularly for trying to sleep) but I can never remember which ones!

This is a great app and I really like it. I would recommend some type of soft chime or bell to let you know you are at the end of a meditation. With your eyes closed it can be hard to know when you are really done.

This is my favorite app. It is 100% worth the $. -It has really helped. Since I always have my phone with me, I use it anytime I am stressed or as a way to relax. They sort the settings in groupings so you can handpick your favorite one. -with this app you have a great guided mediation anywhere. Its not web-based so you can use it on the plane or train. -It is a one time fee and not subscription. This really has been a great tool for me as a busy (with my career and family) person would recommend to anyone!

Buddhify was first introduced to me by a meditator in Cambodia. It is now part of each day!

When I first got this app, I wasn’t sure what to do with it so I deleted it to free up space on my phone. Recently, I took another look and realized that the interface which at first seemed confusing was really quite elegant. I’ve been using it for weeks now and I love it. I just got back from a walk and there are three meditations just for walking. I was waiting with my wife for a medical appointment earlier this week and found a meditation grouped under “Just Waiting”. There are meditations for almost any situation so if you have a few minutes and want to get back in touch with yourself, you’ll love this app.

Beautifully designed and easy to navigate. Tons of different options for guided meditations of varied length, plus a gentle timer for a solo, unguided session. Easily well worth the download.

I think this is a great app. Its simple and with no junk in the way. Its an example of how technology can help us regain balance in life.

I agree with other reviewers: Remove the "Thanks for using Buddhify" message at the end of each track. It is already assumed that you (the developer) appreciates our purchase. So then, if you value OUR thoughts, remove the "plugs." It completely takes you out of the meditation. One of the statements made by one of the speakers at the end of one of the meditations is: "Thank you for using Buddhify. Really...thank you SO much." Are you serious!?!? STOP!! ✋

I am a combat veteran who suffers from PTSD, and I use this app to help clear my mind. It is especially useful when I go to sleep. I usually scream in my sleep a few times a week, but using this app helps reduce the frequency and severity of my nightmares by introducing concepts like thankfulness into my evening routine. I especially like the Fade meditation; by concentrating first on the voices, then the silence between the sounds, this app helps me fall asleep within minutes which I havent done in years. This app is so useful to me. I cant wait to try their new app Sleepfulness. I will never delete this app from my phone.

Its one of the best meditation apps I know out there! They have several different meditation tracks made specifically for certain events which are very helpful and relaxing. The interface is beautiful and very easy to use! Would recommend!

Ive been practicing on and off for 8 yrs now. This app is always a nice place to come to when youre having a difficult time.
